Vely Terms of Use

Effective date: 30 October 2026

Vely is provided by AAIS (PTY) LTD ("we", "us"). Contact us at afonsoaisolutions@gmail.com.

1. The terms that apply

Your licence to use Vely is governed by Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement. This page explains Vely's product, purchase and support arrangements alongside that licence. It does not replace Apple's Standard EULA or reduce any rights you have under mandatory law.

The Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions also apply to your use of the App Store, your Apple Account and App Store purchases. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in connection with the app, purchases, support and website.

2. Eligibility and availability

Vely is intended for people aged 13 and older. You must also satisfy any higher age or parental-authorisation requirement under applicable law and Apple's rules. If a parent or guardian must authorise your use or purchases, obtain that authorisation first.

Distribution depends on App Store availability and applicable requirements. Our intended launch territories are the available App Store territories other than France. App Store availability does not remove rights or obligations that apply to a particular person under applicable law.

3. Your content and access to your vault

You keep ownership of your content and are responsible for having the rights to store and use it. Use Vely lawfully and follow the licence restrictions in Apple's Standard EULA.

The app's approved storage explanation is:

Everything you add — documents, photos, videos, notes, scans, and the names of your files and folders — is encrypted on this iPhone before it is saved. Each file gets its own random 256-bit key and is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, using Apple's CryptoKit. Names, folders and notes are kept in a database encrypted with SQLCipher.

Keep the recovery phrase you are given during setup. The app explains:

Your 12-word recovery phrase opens your vault if you forget your pattern, and you need it to restore your iCloud backup on a new iPhone. We show it once and never store it, so we can't show it to you again. Keep it somewhere safe and offline.

Your recovery phrase restores access to encrypted data that still exists. It does not back up your files.

If you lose both your pattern and your recovery phrase, we can't help you open your vault. We don't have your keys.

Read How your data is protected, including its protection limits, before relying on Vely for important files.

4. Optional iCloud backup and exports

Review your backup settings and the date of your last completed backup. The app explains:

To restore on a new iPhone, you need the same Apple Account and your recovery phrase, and then you draw a new pattern. The backup uses your iCloud storage. It is a backup, not sync: changes you make after a backup aren't in it until the next one.

If you delete Vely or lose your iPhone, your files can only be restored from an iCloud backup. Your recovery phrase alone can't bring them back.

Deleting Vely doesn't delete your iCloud backup. To delete it, go to Settings > iCloud Backup.

Apple provides iCloud under its own terms. You are responsible for your Apple Account, available iCloud storage and any charges from Apple or your network provider.

For exports, the app explains:

Files you share or export leave your vault and aren't protected by Vely. Keep Vely open until sharing finishes.

Review the destination and any other copies when exporting a file.

5. Free access and Vely Pro

The free plan includes up to 100 photos, videos and files, with a limit of 10 scans. Notes and albums are unlimited, and optional iCloud backup is included.

Pro removes these item and scan limits and includes restoring iCloud backups above the free plan's 100-item limit. Available purchase options are monthly, annual and a one-time lifetime purchase, as shown in the App Store purchase screen. A lifetime purchase is not a recurring subscription.

If Pro expires, items already in the vault remain readable and exportable. Adding items beyond the free limits requires Pro again. This does not promise that a discontinued app, an old version of iOS or an unavailable third-party service will remain supported indefinitely.

6. Prices, subscriptions and refunds

Apple's purchase confirmation and applicable terms govern billing, eligibility, renewal and price-change notices. We do not promise a particular price, trial or offer unless it appears in the purchase screen you accept.

7. Support, updates and third-party services

For support, email afonsoaisolutions@gmail.com or visit Vely Support. Never send us your pattern or recovery phrase.

We may release updates to fix issues or change features. Device and operating-system support can change over time. Apple operates the App Store and iCloud, and RevenueCat provides purchase management; availability of those services is subject to their own arrangements.

8. Warranties, liability and consumer rights

The warranty, liability, termination and dispute provisions in Apple's Standard EULA apply to your licence. This page does not introduce an additional liability cap or waive rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any mandatory local consumer, privacy or product-liability protections continue to apply.

If you have a complaint or believe Vely does not meet a legal obligation, contact us. The use of Apple's Standard EULA does not make Apple responsible for the support that we provide.

9. Open-source components

Vely includes third-party components under their respective licences. Licence information is available in the app under Settings > Licences. These terms do not remove rights granted by those licences.

10. Changes and contact

We will post changes to this page with an updated effective date. We will give any notice or obtain any agreement required by applicable law. Changes do not remove accrued rights or mandatory legal protections.
